SHELLEY SANDZER SECURES A SLICE OF BLACKHEATH FOR FRANCO MANCA

Leading specialist UK leisure and property agency, Shelley Sandzer, has secured a new site for Franco Manca, the fresh sourdough Neapolitan pizza brand, in the sought after London location of Blackheath Village.

The new 2,500 sq ft restaurant – seating 70 inside and 30 on a terrace – will be on Tranquil Vale, located in the very heart of Blackheath Village itself and just a short distance from both Blackheath Station and London’s iconic Greenwich Park. The restaurant will open in late October 2021.

Franco Manca, which launched in 2008 in Brixton Market, is an established London favourite, with its Neapolitan soft bases proving a hit with food-savvy consumers. Boasting a diverse menu that includes meat, vegetarian, and vegan options, Franco Manca endeavours to stay true to its roots using small suppliers and local ingredients wherever possible, with fresh dough made daily on site.

With a portfolio of 55 restaurants situated across the UK, and having opened a small summer pizzeria on the island of Salina in North of Sicily, Franco Manca is a recognised name in artisan pizza making.

Nick Weir, joint managing partner of Shelley Sandzer, commented:“Franco Manca is a great brand, and one that will sit very comfortably in Blackheath Village.  Shelley Sandzer is very much part of Franco Manca’s journey, having secured a number of sites in addition to this one, including in Greenwich.”

Sharon Cawthorn, Property Director of Franco Manca, said: “With its a scenic hub of restaurants and café-culture, Blackheath is the perfect location for Franco Manca.  Shelley Sandzer has been brilliant in understanding our brand and what we need in a location, and their advice and support has played a key role in our growth.”

The news follows Shelley Sandzer securing a new home for Soho favourite, Vasco & Piero’s, with the restaurant signing at 10-11 D’arblay Street in the heart of the West End.

Shelley Sandzer acted for Franco Manca.
